SOLARWATT GmbH has been a solar industry pioneer since 1993 and recently repositioned itself as part of a successful restructuring in 2012. The Dresden-based company has responded to the changes in the solar market by expanding its offering to complete photovoltaic packages for decentralized heat and power supplies to residential customers and small businesses. SOLARWATT GmbH now operates at full production capacity, which is partly due to its strong partnerships, including BMW-i. Increasing complexity in the field of energy efficiency and the networking of different energy sources create an ongoing need for new solutions: SOLARWATT GmbH has developed the SOLARWATT Energy Manager to address this market. The energy management system measures household energy flows and adjusts them so that as much solar power as possible is used within the owner’s four walls. It is a system tailored to the requirements of the final customer. Once it has been set up, the system functions automatically and can be controlled at any time via a tablet, smartphone or desktop computer. In June 2015, SOLARWATT presented its revolutionary MyReserve storage battery to the public at the Intersolar Europe. MyReserve is a solar storage battery of the latest generation based on lithium-ion technology. Thanks to the direct-current technology it uses, the system is installed directly between the solar plant and inverter minimizing conversion losses. SOLARWATT GmbH is also offering the SOLARWATT 60M high power module with an output of 300 watt peak (Wp) since February 2016. The German solar pioneer is now the first company to produce a glass-glass model in this variant and with this output. SOLARWATT glass-glass modules are extremely durable and especially resistant to environmental influences – they are essentially “unbreakable”.
